Set up a scanner to use with Mac. You can add a scanner to the list of devices in Printers & Scanners preferences. If you’ve already set up a printer that includes a scanner, you may be able to use its scanner features without any additional work. Select the printer in the list at the left, then click Scan. Rescued my Canon P-215 from the junk heap. Kept postponing updating my MacBook Air to High Sierra just to keep the Canon driver working. For some reason the driver and proprietary software stopped working today anyway. Thanks to VueScan, I get to use my scanner despite the fact that there's no longer support from Canon.

Did you contact Canon and receive an explanation for the Catalina designated software not working? Your plan B, would be to kick Canon to the curb, and use the paid, non-subscription, 64-bit VueScan which supports the DR-C125 scanner without any Canon software or drivers installed. Then you have vendor independence, and less Canon hassle.
